Class Descriptions

o Introduction
An overview of the pros and cons of going digital, equipment choices, camera functions, practical photo techniques, and basic image manipulation. The afternoon session provides students with an actual shooting session followed by computer enhancement of selected images using Adobe Photoshop. Students should have a basic understanding of computers, a digital camera and bring several examples of their digital photography if they have them. Register for course

o Introduction to Close-up Photography
An overview of techniques and equipment used to take close-up images of a variety of subjects (i.e. jewelry, flowers, insects). Topics include equipment choices (cameras, lenses, flash equipment), camera functions (white balance, ISO, shutter speeds, f-stops), and lighting situations. Register for course

o Digital Travel Photography
Learn how to bring back stunning photographs from your next vacation with digital cameras. This class provides tips on basic techniques to photograph landscapes, people, cities, and animals. Equipment selection, exposure determination, and creative composition is emphasized in hands-on demonstrations to achieve professional results Register for course

o Digital Nature Photography
Learn to achieve professional quality nature photographs using digital cameras through proper equipment selection, exposure determination, and composition. Techniques for photographing the landscape, wildlife, and close-ups will be covered in depth, as well as the business of stock nature photography. Digital workflow and image manipulation will also be discussed. Register for course

o Photoshop for Nature & Travel Photographers
An overview of the basics of image enhancement using Adobe Photoshop. Digital workflow, photoshop tools, image import, basic image manipulation, printing, and scanning techniques will be presented. Register for course

Individual Instruction
Design your own course and get individual instruction in general photography, travel photography, nature photography, close-up photography, stock photography, or digital photography. $35.00 per hour; two hour minimum
